Charivari Day took place on Saturday 11 July 2026, marking the 30th anniversary of the carnival run by local arts company Strange Cargo. The parade set off from The Stade fish market at 2pm, drums leading the way past the harbour crowds, up The Old High Street and through the town centre, before finishing at The Leas Bandstand with a music programme running into the early evening.
Charivari has run annually since 1997 and over 20,000 local people have taken part in the parade over the years, so it's safe to expect it back again next July. If you own a property in Folkestone, it's worth keeping the second Saturday of July in mind for next year's edition, since a town centre carnival of this size brings a steady flow of visitors and their families into Folkestone for the day.
